Wes Agar: Kent re-sign Australian paceman on deal for first part of 2024 season

Wes Agar took 5-63 at Northampton in his last Kent appearance in 2023
Kent have re-signed Australian fast bowler Wes Agar for the first four months of the 2024 English season.
The 26-year-old right-armer took 21 wickets in six County Championship matches for Kent in 2023, when he filled the gap before India left-armer Arshdeep Singh arrived in July.
He also played in five T20 Blast matches for the Spitfires.
The younger brother of Australia international spinner of Ashton Agar is again available for all formats.
His planned timespan, from the start of the Championship season in early April to the end of July, should make him available for Kent's first 10 red-ball matches, as well as the group stage of the Blast.
Agar is Kent's third signing for next season following fellow paceman George Garrett from Warwickshire and Lancashire and England leg-spinner Matt Parkinson.
"I'm so stoked to be coming back to Kent again in 2024," said Agar. "I absolutely loved being a part of the squad in 2023. It is such a special club."
Agar has played two one-day internationals for Australia, both against the West Indies at Bridgetown, Barbados in 2021 - and has taken 78 first-class wickets at an average of 32.41, chiefly for South Australia.
Kent's new director of cricket Simon Cook said: "Wes was a big addition to our squad this past season, contributing across two formats, as well as becoming a big part of the dressing room."
