Can I still access �鶹Լ�� Live Radio on my Sonos?

Yes. We’ve made some changes to how you access �鶹Լ�� live radio.

You can listen to live �鶹Լ�� radio by adding �鶹Լ�� Sounds in the Sonos Controller app.

Can I use �鶹Լ�� Sounds with my Sonos device?

We have released a version of �鶹Լ�� Sounds on the Sonos platform, meaning you’ll be able to listen on your Sonos device via the Sonos S2 controller app.

This means that both iOS and Android users can now get a full, personalised �鶹Լ�� Sounds experience on their Sonos speakers.

To enable �鶹Լ�� Sounds on Sonos, open the Sonos app on your device, then:

Tap on 'Settings'
Tap on 'Services and Voice'
Scroll down to the bottom and tap on 'Add a service'
Scroll until you find �鶹Լ�� Sounds and tap 'Add'
Connect your �鶹Լ�� account with your Sonos account
That's it!

'Star' (favourite) certain elements so they appear on your My Sonos homescreen (for example, Listen Live, Continue Listening, Recommended For You)

You can also use Sonos on desktop by installing the Sonos desktop application. Choose 'Select a Music Source,' then 'Add Music Services' to find �鶹Լ�� Sounds.

At the moment, �鶹Լ�� Sounds is available on the Sonos controller app within the UK only.

If you are in the UK and unable to find the �鶹Լ�� Sounds service on the Sonos app, your account may not be registered to the UK. You can find out how to check this on the Sonos Help Site.

What is Multi-Room?

Multi-Room allows you to play your favourite �鶹Լ�� Sounds music, podcasts or radio stations on multiple Alexa-enabled devices at the same time with our Alexa skill. To find out more, have a look here: Amazon Multi-Room.

Please note, the �鶹Լ�� is not responsible for content on third-party websites.

How do I set up and use Multi-Room?

You first need to set up speaker group/s in the Alexa app. For information and support on how to do this, have a look at the following page: Play Music with Multiple Alexa Devices.

Please note, we recommend using the default group names provided when setting up device and speaker groups.

Once you have set your speaker group/s up you can ask for any �鶹Լ�� Sounds content to be played on the group, rather than a single device, for example:

‘Alexa, Ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds to play Radio 4 on the Everywhere group’
‘Alexa, Ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds to play Desert Island Discs in the Kitchen’
‘Alexa, Ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds to play Focus Beats on the Study group’

You can now access �鶹Լ�� local news from 39 stations across England, as well as the �鶹Լ��’s national services for Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales on your Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device.

Just say ‘Alexa’ or ‘OK Google’ followed by the relevant phrase below. Or simply say, “Alexa, ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds for local news” to your Alexa-enabled device. You can also listen and subscribe via �鶹Լ�� Sounds by clicking the relevant link:

You can listen to all of our live and on-demand content on �鶹Լ��Pod by using AirPlay from the �鶹Լ�� Sounds app on your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch.

�鶹Լ�� Sounds listeners on iOS mobile devices running iOS version 12.2 or higher can use Siri shortcuts to access �鶹Լ�� Sounds. You can create custom shortcuts to launch live radio via the Siri Shortcuts app.

How do I sign in on the �鶹Լ�� Sounds Alexa skill?

It’s quick and easy to sign into your �鶹Լ�� Account on Alexa. Follow this handy step by step guide for tips.

Before you start…

You’ll need to be in the UK and have a �鶹Լ�� account. If you don’t already have one you can register for one during the account linking journey described below.
Ensure the �鶹Լ�� Sounds Skill is enabled in your Alexa app. You can find the Alexa app in the Apple app store or Google play store. For help with enabling the �鶹Լ�� Sounds skill, check the following page: Can I use �鶹Լ�� Sounds with my Alexa device?
Make sure you are currently using the correct Amazon profile.
- If you have more than one adult profile within your Amazon household, make sure you are on the profile to which you want to connect your �鶹Լ�� account. You can check this by saying "Alexa, who am I?"
- If you're on the wrong account, just say "Alexa, switch account."
- If you are still being asked to sign in after linking and signing into your �鶹Լ�� account, make sure you are on the correct amazon household profile and that the profile is linked to your �鶹Լ�� account. (Make sure the device is setup with your Amazon household profile).

There are four ways to sign in to your �鶹Լ�� account on Alexa:

To sign in on the Alexa app skill page

Step 1
Open your Alexa app. Tap on the ‘More’ button in the bottom navigation bar.

Step 2
Tap on ‘Skills & Games’ in the Menu.

Step 3
Tap on the ‘Your Skills’ tab and tap on �鶹Լ�� Sounds.

Step 4
Tap 'Settings'

Step 5
Tap on ‘Link Account’ to get started connecting your �鶹Լ�� account.

To sign in via the notification on your phone

Step 1
Open the skill on your Echo device by saying "Alexa, open �鶹Լ�� Sounds" and say 'Yes' to the message asking if you’d like a link sent to your phone to get you started.

Check your phone for a notification sent from Amazon Alexa. Tap this notification to be taken to the Alexa app.

Step 3
Tap on ‘Link Account’ to get started connecting your �鶹Լ�� account.

Step 4
Tap ‘Continue’ to move onto the next step.

Step 5

Step 2
Open your phone’s camera and point it at your Echo’s screen. Then tap on the notification that appears. This will open the �鶹Լ�� Sounds skill within the Alexa app.

Step 3
Tap on ‘Link Account’ to get started connecting your �鶹Լ�� account.

Step 4
Tap ‘Continue’ to move onto the next step.

Step 5

To get started, say "Alexa, open �鶹Լ�� Sounds." When prompted, ask for the name of the live radio station, programme, podcast or music mix that you want to listen to.

Live Radio

You can now restart, rewind and fast-forward radio shows on the �鶹Լ�� Sounds Alexa skill.

The �鶹Լ�� Sounds Alexa skill now gives you the ability to rewind and fast-forward radio, or restart the show you're listening to. �鶹Լ�� Sounds is the only radio provider in the UK to offer this functionality.

How to play live radio

To start playing live radio say, "Alexa, play [live radio station]." For example, "Alexa, play 6 Music” or "Alexa, play Radio 2.”

How to find out what's playing on live radio

To find out what song or programme is currently playing on a live station say, "Alexa, ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds what's playing."
If you're listening to a rewound stream, you can say "Alexa, ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds what's playing" to find out the station and show you're currently listening to.

How to restart live radio

Love The Archers but missed the start on Radio 4? No problem, just say, “Alexa, ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds to restart,” and we’ll take you to the start of the show.

How to rewind live radio

Listening to Radio 2 and missed Ten To The Top? “Alexa, ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds to rewind to 10.30am.”
Asked for Radio 1 just as your favourite song is ending? “Alexa, ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds to rewind 3 minutes.”
And if you’ve just missed a goal on 5 Live, “Alexa, ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds to rewind” will rewind one minute.

How to fast-forward or return to live radio

You can fast-forward by using the corresponding requests, for example “Alexa, ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds to fast-forward to 9.30pm / 5 minutes.”
And when you’re ready to listen live again, just say, “Alexa, ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds to return to live.”

How to pause and resume live radio

You can also pause and resume live streams by saying "Alexa, pause" and "Alexa, resume."

Podcasts and music mixes

How to play a podcast

To start playing podcasts and music mixes say, "Alexa, ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds to play [name of content]." For example, "Alexa, ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds to play That Peter Crouch Podcast,” or "Alexa, ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds to play Woman's Hour."

How to play the first available episode of something

To play the first available episode of something say “Alexa, ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds for the first episode of [name of content].”

How to play the latest available episode of something

To play the latest episode of something say “Alexa, ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds for the latest episode of [name of content].”

How to pause or resume a podcast or music mix

To pause or resume say, "Alexa, pause" or, "Alexa, resume."

How to fast-forward or rewind a podcast or music mix

To rewind or fast forward say, "Alexa, ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds to rewind 30 seconds," or "Alexa, ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds to fast forward 5 minutes."

How to navigate between episodes

To navigate between episodes, just say "Alexa, next" or "Alexa, previous."

How to continue listening from where you left off

To continue listening from where you left off, just ask Alexa for the podcast or on-demand programme you were listening to previously, for example, "Alexa, ask �鶹Լ�� Sounds for The Infinite Monkey Cage."
Likewise, if you've been listening to something on your Alexa device and want to pick up from where you left off on the �鶹Լ�� Sounds app or website, just scroll to the Continue Listening section and click on the programme title.
If you're not listening to the last episode in a series, we'll play the next episode automatically when your episode ends.

How to stop what you're listening to

To stop playback, simply say "Alexa, stop."

How do I set up an Alexa Routine?

Wake up with �鶹Լ�� radio! Routines are a great way to fit �鶹Լ�� content in with your daily activities. Wake up at the same time each day to your favourite radio station, catch up with the news at lunchtime, or hear the latest episode of your favourite podcast when you say a specific phrase.

How do I set up a routine?

Open the Amazon Alexa app
Tap More in the bottom-right corner
Tap Routines
Tap + in the top-right corner
Create a routine name
Add a routine trigger (the trigger can be a time, or something you say, etc.)
Tap Add action
Tap Customised
Enter what you would ask Alexa (e.g. "Play Radio 4," "Play �鶹Լ�� News," "Play All Day Chill Mix")
Tap Next, then Save

You can use this method to set an alarm using �鶹Լ�� content. Just select Schedule when adding the routine trigger.

When you’ve set up your �鶹Լ�� routine, why not share it with someone? Open the routine, tap the three dots in the top-right corner and follow the steps to share.

Here are some pre-made �鶹Լ�� routines for you to try:

You can listen live to all of our �鶹Լ�� radio stations by saying, for example, "OK Google, play Radio One." You can also listen to music mixes, on demand �鶹Լ�� programmes and podcasts by casting from the �鶹Լ�� Sounds app.
