The information on this website describes what the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ does in relation to managing its health, safety and security risks. It is written specifically for those working for the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ or contributing to its programmes, whether they are Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ staff, freelancers or contributors.
The majority of the website comprises our Safety Guidelines. These are subject-specific, typically UK focused and reflect the activities which our productions routinely carry out - given the scope of what we do, including in all parts of the world, it cannot ever hope to be an exhaustive list.
The Guidelines contain links to reputable and reliable sources of information. The 'tone' of the Guidelines is one of providing guidance / advice, which will be open to interpretation dependent on the particular situation or set of circumstances the production is presented with - any course of action should always be based on a sound and thorough assessment of safety risk.
Our Safety Guidelines are accessible through 'bbc.co.uk/safety'. The purpose of this is to increase their accessibility to our productions wherever they are in the world. Whilst we acknowledge that these Safety Guidelines may be of value to others within the tv, film and radio production industries, and whilst we endeavour to make sure the information provided is up to date and accurate, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ cannot be held liable for how our Guidelines are interpreted or used by third parties, nor provide any assurance that adopting or following them would provide any measure of legal compliance.
