Abstract

An acoustic survey has been made of some of the Lime Grove studios. The outstanding feature is the deadness of the studios which gives undue prominence to isolated echoes coming even from quite small reflecting surfaces. The sound insulation between studios and from external sounds is on the whole satisfactory, but attention will have to be paid to studio doors, especially in studio F where train noises are likely to be found disturbing.

Ventilation has been studied hero, and in sound studios and a figure of 28 dB, using a 40 db A.S.A. weighting network, is tentatively recommended as a basis for ventilation specifications.
