I gave an overview of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ R&D's activities into creating accessible products and services for the 'new broadcast system', reflecting on our current research approach and the challenges the industry faces in the new broadcasting system. This included an outline of our long standing contributions to the current state of art technologies in Access Services for Broadcast and also illustrated the future challenges for diversifying audiences.
It was great to be able to showcase some of R&D current projects such as 'Universal Control API' (whitepapers and available from the R&D publications site, and from Github) which we recently took to the Web meets TV W3C Working Group meeting in Berlin, Alternative Audio (whitepaper and a couple of experimental collaborative subtitle data projects such as and .
The presentation appears well received by the W3C communities and the attendees (and ) and I look forward to seeing the our continued work of my colleagues across R&D with the W3C community in the months and years to come.
