We are all "different"

In less than 10 years time more than half of us will be over the age of 50. So making products which suit our stiffening hands and fading hearing will become more and more important. But given that those of us on the wrong side of 50 generally have more money to spend these days - why are manufacturers still so focused on the young and fit?
