Albert Einstein called Galileo "the father of modern physics - indeed of modern science altogether." But, unknown to most, he was also the father of a young woman, with whom he exchanged countless letters.

Timberlake Wertenbaker’s latest play, Galileo’s Daughter, explores their complex relationship, against the backdrop of Galileo’s clash with the Catholic church.

SheÌýtalks to Jenni about bringing historical figures to life and the relevance of contemporary theatre.

The premiere performance of playwright Timberlake Wertenbaker’s Galileo’s Daughter takes place at Bath Theatre Royal on Friday 9 July

GaliIeo's Daughter is based on the book of the same title by Dava Sobel
