Ìý Mountaineering literature 25 Mar 2004 Ìý
The poet William Blake wrote 'Great things happen when men and mountains meet' - and there is a long literary tradition of novels and memoirs detailing the exploits of climbers across the centuries.

But women who climb felt a little excluded. They've formed a group called Women Mountains and Words to provide a forum for women who want to bring a female perspective to the genre. This Saturday they'll be at the 17th International Festival of Mountaineering Literature.

Jenni is joined by Jan Levi, a founder member of the forum and author of Anyone for Crampons and climber, writer and historian Audrey Salkeld to talk about what happens when women meet mountains.
