Ìý Cole Porter's enduring appeal 23 December 2003 Ìý
Old King Cole was a merry old soul - and at this time of year - with all those extra hours in the kitchen, many of us keep our seasonal spirits up with a line or two by his name sake - Cole Porter.

Whether it's Who wants to be a millionaire? with its spirited refrain "I do" or ... "Birds do it, bees do it - even educated fleas do it" - Cole Porter's lyrics seem to have an enduring appeal to women in particular.

John Barrowman, the star of the current West End production of Anything Goes and Peggy Reynolds, cultural commentator and Cole Porter fan join Jenni to consider why we continue to Get a Kick Out of.. Cole.

Anything Goes is at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, London WC2
