Nora Ephron may have famously said that "Life is copy", but what happens when writers borrow too heavily from real life for their fiction?
Playwright Marianne Nault's new production is based on the life of novelist Saul Bellow and his five wives, and novelist and poet Sophie Hannah uses contemporaries in her fiction and poetry.
Marianne and Sophie join Sheila to talk about how real life is an inspiration for their art. Marianne Nault's play about the five wives of Saul Bellow, 'The Sixth Woman', runs as part of the Edinburgh Festival, at the Lindisfarne Room, St Cut's, off Princess Street, August 7th - 9th
Leaving and Leaving You by Sophie Hannah, is published by Carcanet Poetry ISBN: 1 85754 407 2
