Ìý Pipeworks Wednesday 28 May 2003 Ìý
When Karen Wimhurst accepted the job of Composer in Residence for the River Stour, she expected the job to be unusual, but composing music for hot tank, immersion heater and toilet was the task she set herself when she combined a saxophone quartet with some less "bog standard" instruments to form Pipeworks.

For the past three years Karen has been composing music and working with Local Groups for Confluence - an arts initiative to create new music for the River Stour.
Jo Morris went along to a rehearsal at Christchurch Priory in Dorset and asked Karen where she go her inspiration for Pipeworks.
Pipeworks are performing at this year's Salisbury Festival on 1 June at Salisbury Playhouse.
