Ìý Summer Bulbs - The Lily Tuesday 4 February 2003 Ìý
We're ever hopeful at this time of year that if winter has come, spring can't be far behind. And there are signs that the daffodils and snowdrops you planted last year are beginning to peek through the soil.

It's time now to do some planting for summer and Lilies are a good choice. They've been in cultivation for more than 3,500 years and now there are at least 100 different species. They are named in the Bible and the Talmud, and the flower is said to have sprung from Eve's tears as she was cast out of the garden of Eden.
Kathy Brown, the author of Bulbs for All Seasons, got Jennifer Chevalier out in the garden, despite the weather.
