We're ever hopeful at this time of year that if winter has come, spring can't be far behind. And there are signs that the daffodils and snowdrops you planted last year are beginning to peek through the soil.

They are named in the Bible and the Talmud, and the flower is said to have sprung from Eve's tears as she was cast out of the garden of Eden.
