Ìý Alan Ayckbourn Thursday 12 December 2002 Ìý
Alan Ayckbourn is easily Britain's favourite playwright and with more than sixty plays to his credit, he's more prolific than Shakespeare.

Often described as a comic dramatist, Alan Ayckbourn has also known to reduce his audience to tears. His writing for women has received much praise, but it was his 1986 production A Woman in Mind which saw him hailed as a 'feminist dramatist'.
...and his fascination with writing for women continues. His only play for an all woman cast goes on tour next year - and his Christmas production for children explores a mother-daughter relationship touched by magic.
Alan Ayckbourn joins Jenni to discuss his most recent work - The Jollies, now playing at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough.
