There a currently an explosion of baby signing workshops springing up all over the United Kingdom.
Infants develop the fine muscles in their hands before they develop those required for speech, so they're equipped to communicate with you before they can speak.
But is signing a vital form of communication or are parents just trying to fast track their children's development at too young an age? And is there any proof that signing promotes speech?
