Ìý Frances O'Connor Monday 24 December 2001 Ìý
Frances O'Connor was seen recently on television playing Flaubert's misguided heroine, Emma Bovary. Her performance as the bored wife, who comes to an unpleasant end, won her rave reviews.

She has since gone on to Hollywood to play the mother of the robot in Spielberg's A I and will soon be seen in The Importance of being Earnest with Colin Firth and Rupert Everett and Windtalkers with Nicholas Cage.
But she's currently in the West End playing Maggie in Tennessee Willams' Cat On a Hot Tin Roof. Jenni talks to Frances O'Connor about her career to date and her plans for the future.
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof is on at The Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue until 12th January. Box office 020 7494 5045
We're on our Christmas holidays, so sorry but audio will not be available for individual items. Don't forget you can still hear the full programme by going to the Woman's Hour homepage or by going to the Listen Again page.
