Belinda Jones , Bill for short, won the title of best newcomer at last year's Â鶹ԼÅÄ Folk Awards - less than a year after releasing her debut album Turn to Me.
Born in Staffordshire and now based in the North East, the folk singer can also play accordion, piano, flute and Irish whistle.
A four track EP is due for release in November this year.
She joins Jenni to explain how she finds forgotten folk songs, and why storytelling in traditional ballads is so important to her. She also sings live in the studio. Bill Jones will be playing at the Buddle in Wallsend with Chris While and Julie Matthews on Saturday 28th October. For details please call 0191 200 7132.
Current CD: Panchpuran (Brick Wall Music, BRICK 002CD).
