Brought up on Sydney's northern beaches, Australian Amy Dickson picked up the saxophone at the age of six when her piano teacher suggested she try another instrument to build diversity. Her first saxophone was 'horrible, with about three notes that worked', but it was enough to get her hooked.ÌýAmy has gone on to win international awards, and has turnedÌýaway from theÌýcommonly associated jazzÌýrepetoireÌýtowards a more unusual classical style.
