Ancient science fiction

Lunar telescopes and interstellar warfare may sound like latest sci-fi blockbuster.

But they're also found inside the pages of a Greek story written by Lucian of Samosata inÌý2nd century AD.

This week, Quentin Cooper talks to Dr Karen Ní Mheallaigh from Liverpool University about the surprising links between early Greek literature and modern science fiction.

They're joined by Prof Mark Brake, lecturer in science and science fiction at the University of Glamorgan .

Left-handedness

This Saturday 13th August is National Left-handers Day.

Chris McManus, author of Right Hand, Left Hand and Prof of Psychology at UCL joins Quentin Cooper to discuss the facts and myths of left-handedness.

Also on hand is left-hander Prof Lewis Wolpert, to expose other aspects of asymmetry in our brains, bodies and molecules.
