Isle of Man - Hen Harriers

Lionel kelleway continues his special series of programmes exploring the wildlife of the Manx nation.

The Isle of Man, with its own special landscape and climate has many special wildlilfe attributes, not least the remarkably successful Hen Harrier.

With it’s sulphur yellow legs, it’s trendy blend of dark and pale beige colouration and it’s ghostly effortless flight, this universally is a beautiful and elegant bird.

Rare and retreating anywhere else in the UK, thanks to some skilled guides Lionel Kelleway is taken right to the nest of a Hen Harrier where he not only is absorbed by the character of the chicks, but enjoyed the delights of seeing adults soaring over head.
