Dr Raj Persaud talks to , consultant neurologist and senior lecturer at the about the medical and mystical levels of consciousness.Ìý In his new book A User’s Guide To Consciousness, Adam Zeman examines the relationship between the conscious state and the neurological connectors in the brain.


'PRESUMED CURABLE'

Photographic portraits and extensive descriptions of mentally ill patients have been compiled in a new book Presumed Curable.Ìý The photographs come from The in South London, Britain’s second oldest public hospital, which has been treating mental illness since the 13th century.

Dr Persaud visits the Ìýand talks to, Colin Gale co-author of Presumed Curable and to curator and archivist, Patricia Allderidge and finds out how photography helped treat the mentally ill in the 19th Century.




is a project set up by the Bangor Food Research Unit to help younger children to eat more fruit and vegetables.

Stuart Robinson finds out about the results when he meets some of the children of school in Llandudno, North Wales where the project has been running for the past two years.
