Feature: TMS

Claudia Hammond reports on new treatment which could possibly replace ECT in the future. Instead of electric shocks, TMS uses a magnetic field.

TMS is only available as part of a trial. It's taking place at Pembury Hospital near Tunbridge Wells. People can only go there with a referral from their GP. The patients in the trial have severe depression and haven't responded to other treatments. It won't be available for at least five years as a treatment.
