FEMALE BOUNCERS
In recent years there has been an explosion in the number of venues offering late licences and cheap drinks and, with this, a significant amount of attention has been focused on binge drinking, drug use and violence.
Traditionally, order and control has been maintained in these places by burly, aggressive male bouncers but more and more women are now taking jobs in this arena.
Laurie Taylor walks the streets of London 's Soho to speak to some of these female bouncers, or door supervisors, to find out what kind of skills and resources they bring to the job and asks why they are more in demand than ever before.
