Matt Baker goes to Whitby to discover its Gothic Connections
A small fishing town on the North Yorkshire coast offers all the usual diversions you'd expect to find there - beaches, buckets and spades and boat trips for tourists. ButΜύ has a little bit more - it plays host to for two weekends every year. Matt Baker travels to the town to discover what it is about Whitby which attracts them. He speaks to , an artist who specialises in gothic landscapes; Ron Frampton, who's been a fisherman all his life; Mike Wray, who documents local folklore; and , who walks the town at night, telling people about the inspiration the town gave Bram Stoker - an inspiration which led him to create the character of Dracula.
