A favourite song:

Hannie AbokhamisThe song we recorded is called 'Ya Munira' - 'The Bride'. It's an Arabic love song about a girl. The singer tells how he loved the girl but her family didn't approve of him. So he ends up in lots of hassle. But the singer doesn't want to make trouble for the girl and her family so he travels to a different country across the sea. He still loved the girl but could never have her because he was very poor. So he had to try and make himself worthwhile. The love was still there - it was the family refusing. In the end, the pair get married. This actually happened to me so that's why I sing this song.
