My Sweet Lord
George Harrison
George Harrison
Is β€œMy Sweet Lord” the best post-Beatles song by any of the band? What do you think about its similarity to β€œHe’s So Fine” by The Chiffons?

The first solo number One by a Beatle and George Harrison's message is still as relevent today as it was thirty odd years ago

My Sweet Lord is not an ordinary song it is a wonderful prayer address to God, Christ or Krishna (west meets east) by a longing soul who aspire to be reunited with Him. I am very grateful to George for having created this jewel-like song.

Brian / Denver
This was the first song I ever really listened to and heard on the radio when I was VERY young. The song has had an enormous impact on my life. Just like Anthony / Oak Park. I haven't been able to go a day without music or the radio ever since. To me it epitomizes the reason for creating music. It was number 1 for many good reasons. Like so many other good things, simple but perfect. "He's so fine" was number 1 also and is a great old song. "My Sweet Lord" is perfection at work. You can improve on greatness, but but you can't improve on perfection. Thank you George wherever you are. In heaven I'm sure.

Grahame/Ealing, London
Everything a great song should be. I don't think anyone ever called a radio station to request 'he's so fine' I think that's the point.......... I wish I'd written it!

Paul, Liverpool, England
There is no way that George knowingly copied this song. It shares some basic chord progressions that thousands of songs share. He was only sued because of his fame and genius. It is a shame that some can't handle others' greatness.

George Harrison was a genius. He is a legend. I can honestly say that if more of today's generation listen to George we are bound to have fruitful years of music in the future and that's simply because he is so inspiring. His music is amazing and very inspirational. George lives on in the heart of people from Cashel Community School, Tipperary, Ireland. May Krishna be by your side for ever George!!!

rob wallser plymouth
a great song whoever your God, a universal message from a gentleman who seemed to use his position to advance humanity. Great to listen to, great to sing and one I need to hear once in a while.

Adam Brooklyn NY
My sweet lord is such a deep song with such simple and short lyrics.

Steve Maidstone
Magnificent guitar that in the opening bars cannot be confused with any other song, its different & fresh but still appeals to the mainstream despite the obvious eastern religion theme.

Anthony Moaton/Oak Park, IL
Another one of my childhood favorites. Very moving, even at that age, I was caught up.

Zoe Jackson Lincoln
I think it's a wonderful song we don't hear it much

MÁRCIA MATTAR, BRAZIL,BELO HORIZONTE
