A new French prime minister and his budget challenge

President Emmanuel Macron has selected François Bayrou to be France’s new PM, the latest to try and find a budget which will pass parliament.

In a bid to end political instability, President Emmanuel Macron names centrist political ally as France’s prime minister. François Bayrou now has the task of producing a budget that addresses the country's economic challenges, whilst still achieving a majority approval in an increasingly fractious political backdrop. Also, the US offers a reward of up to $5million for information about an alleged remote working scheme funnelling funds to North Korea’s weapons programmes.
