Uganda's Vinka tells DJ Edu how she went from dancer to music manager, then became a chart-topping star in her own right.

Vinka started out as a dancer for music videos. Her skills bargaining on behalf of her fellow dancers got noticed, and she was invited to become an artist manager for Ugandan entertainment company and record label Swangz Avenue.

After three years doing this, she launched her own career as a recording artist in 2017, and has gone on to become a regular chart topper in Uganda. In 2019 she committed to dropping a new song and video every month.

In this edition of TIA, she tells DJ Edu how she learnt the importance of timekeeping and managing your emotions in her work looking after other artists, and reveals how she had to overcome negative comments when she decided to compete with her former clients.

She also talks about her successful collaborations with other female artists, including her biggest hit, Bebe, which she made with Romanian singer Inna.
