Seydou Chee and Mpho Sebina
DJ Edu meets Seydou Chee, a 17-year-old Malian balancing school and stardom, and Mpho Sebina, a new soul talent from Botswana.
Seydou Chee is just 17 years old, but already he’s able to sell out Bamako’s Palais de la Culture and has a string of hits to his name. As he tells TIA, juggling his music career and his school work can be a challenge, but at the end of the day he loves being a star - despite being very shy.
Also in the programme, a rising new talent from Botswana, Mpho Sebina. She says her soulful sound is influenced by Sade among others, and her vocals recently featured on a track with South African Amapiano duo Major League DJz. It’s called Dinaledit and it’s garnered a lot of attention.
