Still only 20, Ghanaian rapper Black Sherif is riding a wave of success. He scooped awards in Ghana this year including best new artist and best hiphop song for his huge hit Second Sermon.

He's gaining international recognition too. His single Kwaku the Traveller reached number one on the Apple music charts not just in Ghana, but also in Nigeria, and by August it was one of the most Shazamed songs in the world. His face is currently on billboards in New York, Los Angeles and Atlanta in the USA. This month he drops his first album, The Villain I Never Was.

Black Sherif tells the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Ghana correspondent Thomas Naadi about the doubts and insecurities that inspire the lyrics that have made him so popular.
