Ariel Wayz is a young Rwandan artist who is not afraid to break taboos and challenge her fans. A graduate of the government-funded Nyundo school of art and music, she was lead singer of the successful Symphony band before breaking away to start her solo career. Her recently released EP is called Love and Lust, and in the artwork she appears topless apart from a couple of strategically placed shells. She also acts out a lesbian love scene in the video for her song 10 Days. As she tells DJ Edu, she鈥檚 not doing these things to shock, but to question the way female artists are treated, and to show her solidarity for the LGBTQ+ community.
