Sho Madjozi
DJ Edu talks to South African rapper and songwriter Sho Madjozi, one of the most colourful characters on the African music scene right now.
Our guest this week is Sho Madjozi, one of the most colourful characters on the African music scene right now. The South African rapper and songwriter burst onto the scene with her trademark multi-coloured braids and lurid take on the traditional Tsonga skirt, and her equally in-your-face songs, including John Cena, her hit named after the US wrestler. She won a BET (Black Entertainment Television award) in 2019, and was voted kids' favourite African star at this year’s Nickelodeon awards. She’s also just been signed by US record label Epic, becoming the only South African on their books.
