Tensions rise between Australia and China

Australia's prime minister says his country will not be 'intimidated' by China.

Australia's prime minister says his country will not be 'intimidated' by China. Australia had angered Beijing by calling for an investigation into the origins of the coronavirus, and China says there have been virus-related attacks on Chinese people in Australia, urging tourists and students to avoid going there. Peter Ryan is senior business correspondent at ABC News in Sydney, and tells us what's at stake. Also in the programme, after four rounds of negotiation, the Brexit trade deal talks between the UK and EU appear to have stalled. Lance Forman is a former MEP for the Brexit party, and owner of H Forman and Sons which smokes salmon in East London. He argues that an extension to the transition period during which Britain negotiates a trade deal would be counter productive. Barbara Moens is trade reporter for Politico in Brussels, and explains where the UK and EU are in disagreement. And Dave Roberts, owner of car parts maker Rimstock, says that the current uncertainty over a trade deal, combined with the coronavirus pandemic, is making business very difficult. Plus, we travel to Alicante on the Spanish coast, to hear from project manager Yago Sierras, about Europe's largest drive-in cinema, Cinemacar, which is about to open there.
