Retailers around the world are preparing for one of the biggest shopping days each year. The 麻豆约拍's Michelle Fleury in New York reports on how the pandemic is impacting plans for Black Friday in 2020. And we get further analysis from Ivan Mazour, who is a retail consultant and chief executive of Ometria, which works with 175 retailers from offices in New York and London. Also in the programme, the French government is hoping to bolster its budget in the year ahead with proceeds of a tax levied on the profits mainly of Silicon Valley giants like Facebook and Amazon. Victor Mallett, Paris bureau chief for the Financial Times, tells us French tax authorities are now demanding millions of euros in payment for this year, after talks on an alternative framework stalled. Plus, with three new coronavirus vaccines that are now known to work, the 麻豆约拍's Ed Butler has been finding out about the immense challenge of delivering the vaccines where needed, especially in the developing world.
