As clothes shops reopen in some places Bangladesh’s garment sector hopes to recover. Factories there were hit hard by cancelled orders at the peak of lockdowns around the world, and Rubana Huq, president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association tells us whether her members are receiving new orders now. And Rob Wayss, executive director of the Accord on Fire and Building Safety discusses the work his organisation is doing to ensure the safety of garment workers from coronavirus. Also in the programme, with tens of thousands of job cuts announced, and the aviation industry cautious about forecasting a return to 2019 passenger levels, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s Mike Powell reports on the uncertainty and mental health challenges faced by workers in the sector.
