Coronavirus: All 50 US states move toward reopening
Global business news, with live guests and contributions from Asia and the USA.
As the World Health Organization announces the most new cases of coronavirus infections recorded in a single day, the United States has begun to emerge out of lockdown, with each state choosing how much to reopen. Also in the programme, travel company Expedia has posted a larger than expected quarterly loss. The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s Zoe Thomas explains what this portends for global air travel for the rest of the year. Meanwhile Rolls Royce says it's cutting almost a fifth of its global workforce to protect the future of its business, and UK MP Lucy Powell says this might be an opportunity to retrain people into greener jobs. Plus, we’ll hear how home confinement is driving sales for Jigsaw puzzles.
All through the show we’ll be joined by Nate Taplin of the Wall Street Journal in Hong Kong, and Varshini Prakash, executive director of the Sunrise Movement, in Boston.
