UK pubs and restaurants told to close

Cafes, pubs and restaurants must close except for take-away food, in order to tackle coronavirus, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said. Nightclubs, theatres, cinemas, gyms and leisure centres have also been told to close. Meanwhile, the government said it will pay 80% of wages for employees who are not able to work, up to Β£2,500 a month. In the US, where New York and other cities are facing similar measures, we hear from Chris Low from FHN Financial. On paper India has been barely touched by coronavirus but the authorities suspect the reality may be very different and stringent population measures have been ordered in Mumbai. We hear from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Nikhil Inamdar. And whilst business is tough for many, we look at some of the firms bucking the global trend. Russ Mould is investment director at A J Bell, and has been analysing companies whose goods and services are in high demand, including food for home delivery.
