We consider the idea of a wealth tax proposed by some in the US presidential race. We get reaction to the idea from ordinary Americans in New York and Los Angeles. Morris Pearl, former managing director at BlackRock, and chairman of the group Patriotic Millionaires tells us why he is supportive of a wealth tax. French journalist Anne-Elizabeth Moutet discusses why France dismantled its Solidarity Tax on Wealth. And we further consider the arguments on both sides with Vanessa Williamson of the Brookings Institution, who is supportive of a wealth tax, and Chris Edwards of the Cato Institute, who is opposed. Also in the programme, Britain's opposition Labour party has proposed giving every home and business free, fast internet access by the year 2030 if it wins next month's election. We ask Dr Merten Reglitz, lecturer in global ethics at the University of Birmingham, whether internet access should be considered a basic human right. Plus, musician Taylor Swift is embroiled in a dispute with two music company executives, which is threatening her appearance at a major awards ceremony in the US, and a Netflix documentary about her life.
