With signs Germany may be entering recession, we look at how it might get back on track. The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Theo Leggett is at the Frankfurt Motor Show, and tells us how German car industry leaders see their business impacting the economy. Stefan Kooths is chief forecaster at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy in Germany, and explains how his organisation sees the next few months panning out. And we talk to Erik Kirschbaum, a Berlin-based entrepreneur who owns several small-scale solar power plants, about how green industries might provide some of the jobs that Germany needs in the future. Also in the programme, lawmakers in California have passed a bill that could change the future of the gig economy. Alison Grisswold is a reporter for the Quartz news site, and explains how the law, which reclassifies hundreds of thousands of independent contractors as company employees, will affect ride-sharing firms like Uber and Lyft. Plus our reporter looks at the rise of the virtual internship, where remote working technologies enable people to work in teams without even having to turn up at the office.
