Saudi Aramco has confirmed it is planning to list on the Riyadh stock exchange, in what could be the world's biggest initial public offering. The state-owned oil giant will determine the initial launch price after registering interest from investors. Ellen Wald, author of Saudi, Inc., explains what the kingdom hopes to achieve with the listing.

Rating agency Moody's has changed their outlook for South Africa’s economy from stable to negative. The agency will wait until the country’s new budget comes out early next year before deciding whether to officially downgrade the country to β€œjunk.” Nazmeera Moola at Investec Asset Management in Cape Town describes what the country needs in the immediate future.
