Myanmar Court Rejects Appeal for Reuters Journalists

Their original sentence of seven years in prison will stand.

A court in Myanmar has rejected the appeal of two Reuters journalists who were jailed for seven years on the charge of collecting state secrets. Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo were convicted in September after reporting on a massacre by the army of Rohingya Muslims. The appeal court judge said the original sentence had been reasonable.
