President Trump has demanded funding for his long-promised US-Mexico border wall
US President Donald Trump has demanded funding for his long-promised US-Mexico border wall to halt "a growing humanitarian and security crisis". In a televised rebuttal, Democratic leaders accused the president of holding the American people hostage.
Venezuela Supreme Court judge Christian Zerpa has fled to the US to protest over President Nicolás Maduro's second term in office. Last year's election "was not free and competitive", the former Maduro loyalist told a Florida radio station.
In Sudan protests against the rule of President Omar El Bashir have entered a third week. People first took to the streets on December 19th to voice anger against the rising cost of living. Sudanese activists and medical workers estimate that at least 40 people have been killed since demonstrations began.
