Yemen is facing what could be the world's worst humanitarian disaster in a hundred years according to the head of the World Food Programme, David Beasley -- who is in Yemen. He told Newsday the number of people on the brink of starvation was likely to have reached twelve to fourteen million, or almost half the population.
