The billionaire founder Facebook was confronted for the second day over the misuse of user data. Could this mean social media companies face tougher regulation in future?

Day two of Mark Zuckerberg’s ordeal in front of the US Congress: the billionaire founder and owner of one of the biggest companies on the planet was confronted for the second day by politicians over the misuse of user data. Could this mean that social media companies will face tougher regulation in future to tackle issues like fake news and foreign political interference?

Donald Trump has declared he expects to send missiles against what he calls the "animal" President Assad of Syria, after an alleged chemical weapons attack on a rebel-held town. The UK Prime Minister has called an emergency cabinet meeting and President Macron of France has made clear his support for military action. So what should Donald Trump actually do?

Also in the US, Paul Ryan, the speaker of the House of Representatives and one of the key figures backing Donald Trump, has announced he is taking a break from politics. But is it all that simple, or could he be considering a run for the White House himself? Juliegrace Brufke is Capitol Hill Reporter for Hill magazine in Washington, and gives us the inside view.

There's a website that claims to track the size of the US national debt in real time. Right now the world’s largest economy owes around $21.1 trillion. This week, the Congressional Budget Office released a sobering assessment of the nation's indebtedness. It predicted the US government will have to borrow $1 trillion a year by the end of this decade. Economist Dr Irwin Stelzer from the Hudson Institute explains what national debt actually means.
