We hear from him about the research that lies at the heart of a scandal that has engulfed Facebook, and Jessi Hempel of the technology magazine Wired tells us whether it is likely to persuade users to delete their accounts. Also in the programme, the European Commission has unveiled plans for a new digital services tax, which aims to ensure technology giants pay tax on revenues where they are made, rather than being repatriated to low-tax jurisdictions. Alex Cobham is chief executive of the Tax Justice Network, and offers us his assessment of the proposals. Plus we find out about a new free trade agreement that has just been signed, to remove tariffs on 90 per cent of goods in 44 African countries.
