Pharmacies call for more government funds
Pharmacies say the current funding model is broken. The National Pharmacy Association say the lack of money has led to 1,500 community pharmacies closing in the last decade
The government is being urged to deliver on funding for pharmacies to stop them from closing. The National Pharmacy Association voted in favour of cutting opening hours and stopping home deliveries in November 2024. In a statement, the Department of Health and Social Care said Community pharmacy has a vital role to play and government will make better use of the skills of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, to build a service fit for the future.
