Gabriella Pearson is the co-founder of the Menstrual Health Project and has suffered from endometriosis since was a child and has had five operations to help with her diagnosis and pain management.
A new report by the Womenβs Equality Committee says 'medical misogyny' within the reproductive health sector is failing women.
The MPs warn that women with reproductive health conditions such as endometriosis, adenomyosis and heavy menstrual bleeding are frequently finding their symptoms βnormalisedβ and their βpain dismissedβ.
The 32-year-old said: βWhen you are chronically ill, you do learn to just mask and get on with it because thatβs what youβre told your whole life, especially as a woman, that you should just βput up and shut upβ.β
βItβs sad that we normalise pain that we shouldnβt normalise,β she told 5 Live Breakfast.
