Meole oak 'vandalism'

Residents in Meole village in Shrewsbury say they're outraged that a mature oak has been cut down by Shropshire Council. The English oak on Washford Road in Meole village was cut down at the end of October. Councillor Bernie Bentick described it as "an act of environmental vandalism" and claimed it was carried out illegally because residents were not consulted.
