The car finance market is in chaos after a ruling at the Court of Appeal means car dealerships must inform their customers about bonuses, commissions and fees they get from lenders. It has led several finance companies to pause underwriting new agreements. The ongoing car finance scandal, being investigated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), could end up being bigger than the PPI scandal - as drivers could be owed thousands of pounds back over previous and current agreements. Our money expert Iona Bain explains what this means if you want to buy a car soon, including why it might be worth consideringΒ personal finance or a different lender, plus what to do if you think you've been mis-sold car finance in the past.
