For Black History Month, Future Figures recognises those members who are giving back to the Black community, and a spotlight on amazing individuals making Black history now.
As Part of Black History Month 1Xtra once again celebrates its Future Figures. Future Figures is a way to recognise those members who are giving back to the Black community, and a time to celebrate the countless acts that are taking place up and down the country today by those who are helping to create the black history of tomorrow.

After graduating with a degree in fashion and spending over a decade working in marketing, I unexpectedly found myself transitioning into the insurance industry after the birth of my son. I recognised a niche for me to communicate financial information that not many consider through the use of social media and podcast platforms and have developed a successful business over the last 5 years and now have opened my own financial firm.
My passion for insurance and supporting the black community is deeply personal, rooted in the loss of my uncle, who was murdered at the hands of the police at the age of 30. Despite his untimely death and being a black man from south London, he had the financial foresight to have life insurance which is a narrative I know is not too common. This has always underscored the importance of such protection within our community for me and has led to me developing a client base which is majority of African and Caribbean heritage. In addition to the award winning work within my business I have also partnered with schools and colleges to deliver financial literacy and am the chairman of Greenwich universities generator advisory board which supports budding entrepreneurs.
