Sudan's footballers provide 'joy amongst the chaos'
Sudan鈥檚 Abobaker Eisa is hoping victory for the men鈥檚 national football team over Ghana will provide hope during the civil war in the country.
Eisa played the full match of their 2-0 win against Ghana which puts Sudan on the verge of qualifying for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations 鈥 which the left winger says 鈥渨ould be a dream come true鈥.
The match was played in the Libyan city of Benghazi as Sudan cannot play at home because of the civil war in the country.
Eisa spoke to Newsday鈥檚 Isaac Fanin after the match about the impact their head coach Kwesi Appiah has had on the team 鈥 especially the mentality 鈥 and how they鈥檙e looking to provide 鈥渏oy鈥 for the people of Sudan.
